“Eliminate Duties on Bicycles” Letter and Postcard Campaign – We have been active in advocating to the Federal Government to remove import duties on bicycles and bicycle products. In Fall 2013 we achieved a small victory at the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) which opened the way for the eventual elimination of duties on bicycles. However these lobbying efforts are ongoing and we still need your support to let the Finance Minister know that everyone stands to gain from eliminating duties on bikes.

“Shop Local” Marketing Materials for Members – We know that Canadian IBDs do more than just sell bikes- they are active in their communities, helping cyclists stay safe and informed, reaching out with charity and programs that help those in need, and adding their voices to calls for better infrastructure, laws, and safety for cyclists. IBDs play an essential role, not just for bicycle consumers, but for all cyclists and local residents–by setting a great  examples of how local small businesses improve the quality of life in their communities. We want to help IBDs spread the message about why it is important to support your local bike shop, so we’ve designed a series of posters and signs to promote “Shop Local” at your store.
